Our Mission

Providing leadership to forge permanent financial resources with opportunities to make Montgomery County's dreams become reality...for now...forever!

What we do.

The Foundation administers individual funds contributed or bequeathed to it by individuals, corporations, foundations, and other sources. The majority of these funds are held in a permanent fund used to enrich and enhance the quality of life in Montgomery County in perpetuity. The ultimate goal of the Foundation is to match community resources with community needs.

How we do it.

The Foundation's funds are professionally managed. An investment committee oversees all investments. Investment revenue is distributed as grants to non-profit agencies in the county.
Grants are awarded in a manner consistent with donors' specific and general interests. A distribution committee is given the responsibility of distributing the revenue. The committee is comprised of members with expertise in the Foundation's area of interest: environment, health/wellness, youth education, social services, public safety, senior citizens, civic, cultural activities, and recreation.

Advantages of giving to the Foundation.

The community Foundation allows donors the maximum tax advantages and flexibility. Unlike a private foundation, a donor may establish an advised fund at the foundation and enjoy the benefits of directing grants that fulfill his charitable wishes, without the expense and obligation of administration.
